Time Out says

In recent years Londoner Maya Jane Coles has become one of the top women in house music. In fact, when she reached this level she wasn’t even 25 years old yet. House producer Maya Jane Coles, who released her first studio album last year titled ‘Comfort’, grew up in a family that was highly involved in music. While her father had an independent record company, her mother was a big fan of Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix. Maya Jane Coles realized she wanted to do music after listening to Massive Attack’s ‘Blue Lines’ and Portishead’s ‘Dummy’. In addition to remixing big names like Florence and The Machine, Tricky, and the XX, she partook in the prestigious DJ-Kicks series in 2012 and her productions mixing minimal techno, dub and R&B kept receiving great reviews. Critical and music fan support alike have also helped Maya to pick up multiple awards along the way including Beatport’s ‘Staff Pick: Artist of the year 2011’ and the likes of “Best Producer’, “Best DJ”, “Best Compilation” or “Best Underground Track” from a variety of media from Mixmag and DJ to FACT and SPIN! People like Tricky and Kim Ann Foxman from Hercules and Love Affair appeared on her ‘Comfort’ album. Don’t miss this exciting performance!
