Time Out says

If we were to start debating Yo La Tengo’s status as one of the most successful groups around today, the best counterargument would be this: since the beginning of their career in 1984, their enviable discography (of 12 albums, various EPs, film music, a cover album and a collaboration with Jad Fair) has spanned numerous genres – folk, noise pop, shoegaze, dream pop, garage rock, country and krautrock, to name a few – all the while managing to add a YLT soul to every track and performance. A short while ago, they followed up their latest album, 2009’s ‘Popular Songs’, with an EP titled ‘Stupid Things’ – which signalled to us that their next album can’t be too far off. Here’s hoping that one of the most exciting concerts of the month also gives us the chance to hear some brand new YLT tracks.
