This latest locale in a neighbourhood full of award-winning establishments is, at first glance, a good place to throw back a drink or two after work. Luckily, though, 40’s menu isn’t designed exclusively for early evening drinks. You’ll find a rich breakfast menu with options like homemade organic granola served with milk, soymilk or yogurt, orange pancakes with fresh fruit and maple syrup, menemen (a Turkish egg, tomato and pepper dish) as well as Eggs Benedict and – the part we’re most excited about – a full English breakfast. This platter includes fried eggs, sausages, bacon, sautéed mushrooms, rösti potatoes and baked beans, all for 23 TL.
In terms of the salads, the warm goat cheese salad is currently in the lead, followed closely by the smoked salmon salad. The grilled rack of lamb (44 TL) is the pièce de résistance among the main courses. Their prices are less than modest, but it’s important to remember that this is Bebek.
