Pera Palace Hotel’s premier dining locale, Agatha Restaurant continues its ‘Chef’s Tasting Menu’ series from 2011. Starting from March 1, the eatery offers the brand new ‘Modern Turkish Flavours Tasting Menu’, courtesy of Executive Chef Arif Kemal Doğan’s modern approach to cuisine. This is your chance to take in flavours like artichokes in olive oil and tahini fava beans with marinated sole and verjuice; almond sahlep soup with cinnamon foam; grilled octopus covered in crispy tarhana (cereal-like dish of flour, yogurt and fermented, dried veggies) served with root vegetables and a sour pomegranate sauce; gourmet lamb varieties; quince dessert and pumpkin mousse in crispy baklava layers. Pera Palace’s Orient Bar also continues its tradition of presenting special monthly cocktails. During the jazz nights hosted by the Kürşat Başar Quartet between March 2 and 16 and on March 30, Orient Bar is set to serve the cocktail ‘Bosphorus Martini’, which is prepared with Smirnoff vodka, orange liqueur, lemon juice, grapefruit juice and Blue Curaçao and served in martini glasses with a slice of lime, all for 28 TL.
