Asmalımescit Balıkçısı is a cute, boutique seafood restaurant, and the winner of one of Time Out Istanbul’s Eating&Drinking awards. The venue can accommodate up to 80 people, with an enclosed space fitting up to 55 patrons, and an open one for another 25. The Genoese textured stone walls are adorned with fish and sea-themed artworks. As night falls, and candles are lit and music plays, the place is enveloped in a romantic air.
The fish are delivered daily and cooked while still fresh. The chef’s anchovies in sauce, aubergine salad and anchovies in corn flour, are all worth mentioning. A rare fish restaurant where wine is just as important as rakı, they have a wide selection to choose from.
