The Lebanese storm that’s taken over Istanbul doesn’t look to be going away anytime soon. We particularly adore falafel, which is now available in the food court of City’s Nişantaşı, thanks to entrepreneur Feryal Zincirkıran and his foreign business partner who runs the successful falafel restaurant chain abroad. Falafel Veggie is perfect for those who want to take a break from eating meat but keep eating flavourful, healthy food. Just think six falafel patties equal two meat patties in protein.
This is a classic food court locale: quick, practical and cheap, and everything on the menu revolves around falafel. You can order the fresh, crispy and round falafel patties inside soft pita bread with Lebanese condiments, or you can try them on a green salad for an even lighter meal. There’s also burger at Falafel Veggie, though our top recommendation is the Sabih sandwich, made with roasted eggplant, falafel patties, eggs and hummus, topped with dressing from the salad bar. Don’t miss out on the hummus made with white tahini from Antep.
