Meat and kebab lovers will already be familiar with Hamdi. Right on the Haliç shore, Hamdi serves Istanbul residents delicious Southeastern kebabs since 1970. On Hamdi's menu you’ll find aubergine kebab, plum kebab, garlic kebab, pistachio kebab, çiğ köfte (meatballs of raw ground beef, pounded wheat and red pepper) and testi kebab (meat and vegetables cooked in a clay pot over a fire). Hamdi is made up of an eastern corner, seating areas spread out over three storeys, a 140-person terrace with water views, and a 35-person VIP area. The service is attentive and professional.
Sitting on the terrace and eating your meal while watching the flood of people down on the street, and the ferries as they approach the wharf, is an enjoyable experience in itself. After dinner you can buy your dessert from the Hamdi Baklava Café next door.
