Renowned as one of the best dining spots in the Grand Bazaar, Havuzlu restaurant offers classic Turkish cuisine in a charming historical atmosphere befitting the 16th century covered market. Be sure to try to the hünkar beğendi: grilled morsels of lamb over a bed of smoked, pureed eggplant. You won't be surprised to find out that the name of the dish translates to "the Sultan fainted". There are plenty of tourist traps in the Grand Bazaar so be sure to avoid them and head to Havuzlu when all the haggling leaves you hungry.
