Lale-located in a restored 300-year-old building- is a classic in Beyoğlu for İşkembe (tripe) lovers. This popular, accustomed and well-liked restaurant is busy all the time but among the frequenters there are late night party people and people going to work early in the morning (Soup is a breakfast option in Turkey). Chef Arif Sarı has other specials besides the tripe soup like ‘tuzlama’(a sort of tripe dish), ‘kuzu paça’ (Soup made of lamb’s feet), lentil soup, kokoreç, tandır (roast) from sheep’s head, liver slices, tripe with chickpeas, fried liver and Lale special kebap. If you are looking for a sweet conclusion, dessert options are ‘zerde’ (a sort of water pudding), baked rice pudding and Noah’s Pudding.
