If you live on the Asian side of Istanbul and love cycling, we have great news for you. In Çiftehavuzlar, there's a spot called Stride Bike N Coffee where you can both enjoy a great cup of coffee and rent a bike.
One of the rising trends globally is creating spaces where people with similar interests can come together. Stride Bike N Coffee is designed exactly with this in mind, and it’s located at a lively spot on the Caddebostan coastline. As soon as you step inside, you're greeted by brand-new Carraro Sportive bikes lined up and ready to ride.
The concept was created by former national water polo player Sinan Naipoğlu, along with his friends Alper Yüceer and Ali Selman Altınbilek. Naipoğlu shares: “On Saturday mornings, we used to go for a run in Belgrad Forest, then rent bikes in Yeniköy and cycle all the way to Sarıyer. Since the coastline on the Asian side is much more suitable for cycling, we wanted to bring this project to life here.”
While setting up the space, the team received technical support from Gürsel Akay, the founder of Yeşil Bisiklet, one of Istanbul’s oldest cycling communities. As for the name, ‘stride’, Naipoğlu explains: “Our goal is to help people take the first step towards incorporating cycling into their lives by offering them the chance to try out high-quality bikes for the price of a coffee.”
This place is a perfect meeting spot for those who embrace an active lifestyle. Co-founder Alper Yüceer adds: “In a world where we're increasingly affected by the downsides of digitalization, physical connection is the antidote. With that in mind, we aimed to create a community for cycling enthusiasts. And of course, nothing complements that better than food and drinks. We're bringing cyclists together with the best coffee.”
With the motto “Slow down. Stop. Enjoy”, Stride Bike N Coffee offers more than just coffee. You’ll also find treats like blueberry cake, fit date balls, and smoked turkey bagels among other snacks. Cycling lovers who appreciate good coffee, this spot is for you!
