Black Week Istanbul

Now in its second year, Black Week Istanbul honors Belgian author Georges Simenon, who not only stayed at the Pera Palace Hotel when visiting Istanbul in 1933 but also penned two books set in Turkey. (For those who may not remember, last year’s inaugural Black Week Istanbul festival was held in honor of famous crime novelist Agatha Christie’s 125^th birthday). This year’s event also features panel discussions that focus on topics like detective and mystery stories in historic novels and female crime novelists, with international guests such as Philip Kerr, Tibor Fischer and Sam Wilson.
