The countdown to Africa’s biggest electronic dance music festival is officially on. As ULTRA South Africa prepares to take over the Expo Centre at Nasrec on Saturday, 25 April, the buzz is reaching fever pitch, especially with the news of a massive homegrown collaboration.

Local favourite TiMO ODV has revealed he will be going back-to-back with Kyle Cassim for a high-octane set that promises to be a highlight of the 11th edition.

For the uninitiated, a B2B (back-to-back) set is the ultimate tag-team performance. It’s a high-energy collaborative session where two DJs share the decks, alternating tracks, creating a spontaneous, real-time musical conversation that merges their individual styles into something entirely unique.

But back to TiMO, known for his refusal to be boxed into a single genre, the Save Me hitmaker is ready to bring a signature blend of melodic techno, tech house, and indie dance to the big stage.

From cassette tapes to the big stage

TiMO’s journey from a five-year-old carrying a Backstreet Boys cassette player to a titan of the SA dance scene is the stuff of legend. For him, the scale of ULTRA is the ultimate playground.

"It’s always really cool playing the big stages, especially when you look out and see people engaging with the music in a big way," says TiMO. "Letting people see their favourite local on the same stage as the internationals sometimes ends up with people preferring their homegrown talent on the day."

Fans can expect a high-energy performance featuring his brand-new single ‘Me, I Dance’ (with Advent), alongside VIP edits and exclusive unreleased tracks he’s been cooking up in the studio.

A star-studded lineup

The highly anticipated B2B set from TiMO ODV and Kyle Cassim adds even more local heat to a 2026 roster that is overflowing with global heavyweights.

This year’s lineup features a massive array of headliners, including Axwell, DJ Snake, John Summit, and a rare Afrojack B2B R3hab performance (screams in excitement), alongside house legend Dennis Ferrer and South Africa’s own Shimza.

The world-class billing is bolstered by an incredible supporting cast, including Kyle Watson, DJ Kent, Major League DJz, and DBN Gogo, ensuring the energy remains unmatched from start to finish.
