The 7 music acts we want to see live in Johannesburg in 2026

There have been whispers that we are in for a bumper few years when it comes to live concerts, so we've made a wishlist.

Following the massive success of Travis Scott at FNB Stadium, we've got even more of an appetite for stadium shows in Johannesburg.

While nothing major for 2026 has been announced yet* (what's happening with Calabash, Big Concerts?), there are rumours floating around of who could be coming in the near future.

BTS have been teased, while Coldplay look set to return - if their lead singer Chris Martin was telling the truth.

So, to get you excited (and a chance for us to speak good things into existence), here's our wishlist for 2026 and beyond. We've left BTS and Coldplay out because we've already freaked out about that possibility and our Social Media Manager has created a vision board for the South Korean stars...

*We know that some music acts have already been announced (Bryan Adams, anyone?), but we want stadium shows, too!

If you have a wishlist of your own, drop us a mail on hello@timeoutsouthafrica.com or follow Time Out Johannesburg on FacebookTikTok and Instagram and let us know!

Please tour Johannesburg...

Drake

Champagne Papi, Drizzy, 6 God, The Boy... whatever you want to call him, we just want to see him live! Drake has been to South Africa before - many moons ago - but we feel it's the perfect time for a return, especially seeing how well Jozi turned up for fellow rapper Travis Scott recently. Let's make this one happen, please.

Time Out Johannesburg's Drake Top 3: God's Plan, One Dance, and Hotline Bling.

Beyonce

There's not much we need to say here really... it's Beyonce! If you've seen any clips from her recent stadium shows, including her dates at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England, you would know that she is the perfect fit for the FNB Stadium. We also want to see her now more than ever given that she has reinvented herself, cowboy boots and all.

Time Out Johannesburg's Beyonce Top 3: Texas Hold 'Em, Single Ladies, and Formation

Oasis

The brothers Gallagher - Liam and Noel - put their differences aside and toured for the first time since 2009 this year. The band's reunion tour, 'Live 25', centred around the 30th anniversary of the classic album, Definitely Maybe. While it's unclear whether they will look to extend the tour outside of the United Kingdom, if they do, we really hope a stop in Johannesburg is scheduled in.

Time Out Johannesburg's Oasis Top 3: Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova, and Don't Look Back In Anger.

Taylor Swift

Tay Tay, come to Jozi. You'll make my wife happy - and you know what they say about a happy wife... after all, you will be one soon (congrats, Travis). It's actually a bit ridiculous that she has never toured South Africa. She's also just released a new album, so the big tour is on the horizon. Taylor Swift, it's time for your Johannesburg era...

Time Out Johannesburg's Taylor Swift Top 3: Shake It OffBlank Space, and I Knew You Were Trouble.

System Of A Down

Wake up! Why don't you book a little trip to Jozi! System Of A Down are touring again. We haven't had many bands on the harder side of the spectrum in Johannesburg for a while. They've also never toured South Africa, so it just makes sense. Some might feel they will struggle to fill FNB Stadium, but I beg to differ - this has all the makings of a magical night, just remember to B.Y.O.B.

Time Out Johannesburg's System Of A Down Top 3: Chop Suey!Sugar, and Aerials.

Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish is currently on her Hit Me Hard And Soft tour - and we need that aura of hers in Johannesburg. While she isn't your typical stadium act, we think she would rock FNB Stadium with her pop bangers. While she may be super famous now, she still has a dark and mysterious vibe about her which makes people curious. She'd definitely sell out the stadium.

Time Out Johannesburg's Billie Eilish Top 3: Lovely, Bad Guy, and Birds Of A Feather.

Eminem

It's been over a decade since Eminem toured South Africa and took to the Ellis Park stage. That's a long time, guys. He'd no doubt cause quite the stir if he were to visit again, so we think it's time. His latest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), deserves more live performances. There is talk of a One Last Ride tour with Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre, 50 Cent, and Rihanna, but nothing concrete has been announced yet.

Time Out Johannesburg's Eminem Top 3: Without Me, Lose Yourself, and My Name Is.
