Poketo

This husband-and-wife-owned shop/gallery in Downtown's Art District (named for her grandmother's mispronunciation of "pocket") strives to bring art into customers' everyday lives. Find all sorts of eclectic goods, from the artist-designed vinyl wallets to colorful socks and tees. Plus, the store occasionally hosts art shows and musical performances.

This shop is my first stop for any gift-giving occasion. They have something smart and pretty for your friend, co-worker, parent, anybody. I never leave without picking up a Sydney Hale Co candle to keep my house smelling amazing with whichever seasonal scent Poketo is currently stocking.

In the arts district, this is one of some very good stores, available. They have a beautiful choice of objects, since playing cards, chess boards, pencils and pens, wood toys for children to lovely cooking items or clothes. It is really inspiring. They change things around with some frequency, so you will always find new stuff. The prices aren't that accessible on most things, which in some cases, it's easily understood, and once in a while the staff could be a bit friendlier.

Such a cool shop that's always a pleasure to explore. They have a wide range of specially curated items and an aesthetic that makes you think "this would look GREAT at my place." The prices tend to skew a little too high, but overall their quality selection make this place a win.

So well-curated, so much fun! I love stopping into Poketo to check out their wares—I always see something that inspires me, whether it's a new idea for my kitchen or an amazing pair of socks (I could really step up my sock game, apparently). The people-watching is also great here—everyone is stylish and happy and seems as if their biggest problem of the day is choosing between planters in two slightly different shades of pink. Poketo also hosts lots of talks and pop-ups, which means even better people-watching, and also free snacks and booze. Which facilitates the fancy sock-buying.
