Billy Joel Day says
The Piano Man is returning to Memphis in just a few short weeks, and to celebrate, the Memphis venue where he made his first appearance is honoring him with a full day of festivities. On March 25, Lafayette’s Music Room will host Billy Joel Day, to honor the man who made his memorable Memphis debut at the venue in 1974.

Overton Square is partying with us, as they play Billy Joel Pandora all day throughout the loud speakers.

Share your Billy Joel and Lafayette's memories with us here, and let's get this party started. Details:

SPECIAL MENU, available all day long

10:00am - 2:00pm
Chris Jarman and 98.1 The Max will broadcast live at Lafayette’s. Guests that dine at Lafayette’s during this time will be entered to win free tickets to the Billy Joel concert at FedEx Forum that night. Winners will be drawn at 2:00pm and must be present to win.

2:00pm – 6:30pm
Lafayette’s invites guests to their Billy Joel pre-party to kick back a few drinks and enjoy historic Billy Joel concert footage on their 12 foot HD projector on stage. Customers can relive that show at Madison Square Garden or Shea Stadium, and sing along to favorite classic songs such as “New York State of Mind” and “We Didn’t Start the Fire”.

6:30pm - 9:30pm
Heath and Danny kick off the night with their acoustic melodies.

10:00pm - 1:00am
Ghost Town Blues Band gets the concert after-party started with upbeat blues, rock, and improvisational jams. All styles of music that play homage to Billy Joel.

Make sure to stop by Zebra Lounge Memphis sometime between 8:00pm-2:00am for Memphis's modern piano bar, where you pay homage to the piano by requesting his tunes and singing along.

During his 2015-2016 tour, Billy Joel is only making one stop in the Southeast United States, right here in Memphis, TN. One can only assume it’s because of the memories he once made at Overton Square and Lafayette’s Music Room. Will he make an after-party appearance to relive a few of those glory days? You never know what might happen.
