Memphis in May International Festival says
The culinary creations of a Colombian-born, San Sebastián–trained Chef Juan Felipe Camacho are some of the most highly regarded in the South American food scene.

As a child, in his native Ibagué, Juan Felipe Camacho never imagined being a chef. It took a trip outside the country for him to fall in love with the kitchen. He then moved to San Sebastian, Spain to learn everything he could about this profession. And there he found his vocation noting that "I decided to become a chef for the pleasure I feel in transforming the freshest of ingredients."

Having passed through the kitchens of no less than three of Michelin star restaurants, he brought all of that knowledge back to Cartagena and the kitchen of Donjuan, his stylish restaurant in the city’s historic center. Four years after opening the doors of Donjuan, the 35-year-old chef expanded next door with a new restaurant named after his wife, Maria.
