Final Vote On The Civilian Law Enforcement Review Board says

We hope you will join us tomorrow to support the final vote on establishing a stronger, more accessible and transparent Civilian Law Enforcement Review Board.

We pulled a permit 3PM-3:30PM for a brief rally to support the ordinance, but have learned since yesterday, that MPA president and Mayoral candidate, Mike Williams has put out a call on social media for a vigil at the same time to recognize the life of the late Officer Bolton.

Out of respect for the family of Officer Bolton, and in an effort to avoid mixing messaging or the politicization of the death of a public servant, it is the wish of the Memphis United Coalition, that the scheduled rally from 3PM-3:30PM shift focus to commemorate the lives lost so recently due to senseless violence. We would like to extend an open invitation for all in the community to join us in uplifting the the lives of Officer Bolton and Darrius Stewart.

We are asking that attendees allow this context to guide the way in which you express yourself tomorrow.

We are looking forward to a positive outcome following tomorrow's vote, and we are asking you to join us, following the vigil, in City Council chambers where we are encouraging you to make your voice heard before the council takes a vote.

In the mean time please continue to make calls and send emails to your Council People. It has been very effective thus far... you can also continue to use the tool at to quickly email ALL of your Council People!

Thank you all for the work that you have contributed to bring us to this point. We will hopefully see you all tomorrow!
