The "Treme Prince" and New Orleans Brass Funk Superstar is ready to rock Midtown Memphis as the band starts a 5 week tour.

More Info:

Glen David Andrews, a native son of New Orleans, was born in the historic Tremé neighborhood and soaked up life's musical lessons by learning the history of the brass band tradition firsthand from iconic figures like Anthony “Tuba Fats” Lacen, a patriarch of modern New Orleans music.

Grandson of New Orleans R&B great Jessie Hill (who left a powerful legacy behind in the form of his 1960 hit "Ooh Poo Pah Doo"), younger brother of Derrick Tabb (snare drummer for the Rebirth Brass Band), and cousins to James Andrews, Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews, and the late Travis "Trumpet Black" Hill, Glen comes from a long sprawling musical family tree that seems to blossom with new talent as each generation comes of age.

His otherworldly stage presence has seen him making waves as a headliner at the world's biggest block party – the annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival where he has ripped it up in the gospel tent, the blues tent and the jazz tent in recent years “Glen is one of the giant talents of New Orleans music,” says the festival's producer Quint Davis.

Glen David Andrews and his band host a Monday night residency at d.b.a. on Frenchmen Street in the Marigny neighborhood of New Orleans. Regardless of how many times you've seen his show, you'll never hear his songs performed the same way twice.

This "you never know what you're gonna get, but you know it's gonna be good" feeling, combined with the scintillating high energy performance they bring every show, is what undoubtedly makes this "The Best Party in New Orleans" on a Monday night.

Whether spiritual and inspirational, raw and raucous, or sometimes just downright dirty, a GDA show is as an exhilarating experience as you can get.

As Fly Magazine noted, "His high-energy performances feature moments of raw energy where he becomes a cross between rock star and Pentecostal preacher."

Glen says it best: "All my shows got to be a 10! I'm here to wear your ass out!"
