Jungle Boogie | Special Guest Salah Ananse says
with resident shaman of sound
special guest Atlanta's own SALAH ANANSE

With over 20 years as a producer and DJ on the Atlanta music scene, Salah Ananse’s talent as a DJ has put him on bills with notable DJ's such as Vikter Duplaix, DJ Kemit (Kemeticjust), Rich Medina, DJ Spinna, ?uestlove and Kai Alce. He has also held opening DJ spots for artists such as Jay-Z, Dave Chappelle, India Arie, Joi, Res, Fertile Ground, Dwele, Les Nubians, Musiq, The Roots, Donnie and Raphael Saadiq. Not only does Ananse rock crowds for some of the Southeast’s most popular party series such as Sol Fusion, House In The Park and his own Afrique Electrique & Sunday School, he travels the world bringing his unique mix of soul, house & hip hop. He's held a recurring stint in Brazil and performed in Ethiopia, Argentina, England and many more countries.

Recently Salah Ananse has emerged in the dance music genre as a new force. His rhythmic instrumentation and smooth layered vocals make his sound unique and distinguishable among the rest. Although Ananse has been noticed for his production work, including remixes for Anthony David’s “Yes”, India Arie’s “Brown Skin,” and Jill Scott’s “Cross My Mind” which received underground airplay throughout the nation, he is just beginning to get recognized for his solo projects. After being featured on New Sound Theory Volume 1 with “Something New” and a collaboration with DJ Kemit as vocalist for the their project, Late Night Ritual, he took a 5 year hiatus from releasing personal projects and focused on production for other artists. The result is 2009’s, The Late Night Affair: Suite 701. Suite 701 is a producer driven project that features collaborations with Anthony David, JimiJames, Gaelle & more. This release also introduced Ananse’s Label AURALUXE. He has since released a solo EP titled Marimba Weapons and a collection of remixes for soul artist Carmen Rodgers. His new project - Ananse Scales Rebellion, which is a collaboration project with Afro-beat/Jazz artist Mausiki Scales, has an as yet untitled album with an expected release in 2012.
