The Blues Foundation says
Blues singers and musicians expressing their passion are the subjects of the photography exhibit, Screamin’ the Blues. French photographer and blues music lover, Françoise Digel, has captured her subjects fully possessed by the blues. The show of forty prints opens on May 4, 2016 in the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise Gallery located in the lobby of The Blues Foundation. An opening reception attended by the artist takes place on Friday, May 6, from 2pm to 4pm. The reception is free and open to the public. The exhibit runs through October 2, 2016.

The exhibit will have a dedicated website in English, which will become active the first day of the exhibit. Visitors can find it by scanning the QR codes with their smartphones (free apps available). Each photograph has a 75-word caption explaining the particular scream depicted on the picture, based on interviews with the musician and/or researches.

Two other collections are presented at the same time:

Off the Record, a collection of smaller photos, attached to old vinyl records. The LPs and 45s are stacked together by theme (hands, jewels, gris-gris, harps, strings, tattoos, etc.).

In Memoriam, in honor of the musicians who have left us much too soon.
