Don't touch that dial! TIME WARP celebrates 50 years of Memphis' Summer Drive-IN!
On November 12, we warp you all the way back to 1966, the year the Summer Drive-In opened, to celebrate the birth of this amazing piece of Memphis history. Join us as TIME WARP screens two legendarily fun classics that played in those opening days back in '66: the original BATMAN with Adam West and Burt Ward, based on the deliciously camp TV series, then ONE MILLION YEARS B.C., the famous cavemen adventure fantasy starring Raquel Welch, with eye-popping stop-motion visuals from effects master Ray Harryhausen (King Kong, Jason & The Argonauts, Clash of the Titans)...
And what would a birthday be without cake? We'll be giving away cake and souvenirs to the first 50 people, courtesy of Malco! Opening live music with the mod sounds of TIGER LAKE! Band starts at 5:00, BATMAN at 6 p.m. and ONE MILLION YEARS B.C close to 8 p.m.. CLASSIC TRAILERS will serve for Intermission. $10 a person. Kids under 10 get in free!
TIME WARP DRIVE-IN is now year round! We'll be continuing this season with our Winter Warp - a series of double-feature screenings across the colder months. Then back to all-night marathons in March and into the year! Full schedule for the upcoming Winter Warps and the 2017 season coming soon!
