Remember spending your afternoons whiling away the hours at the Broken Shaker? You’d order up punch bowl after punch bowl, sampling whatever new, seasonal concoction the Bar Lab folks had conjured up. In between the ladles of boozy drink, you’d get up and maybe play a lawn game or contemplate your next beverage. We could spend all day reminiscing. But instead, we’ll tell you how easy it is to recreate your weekend ritual at home in your yard or on your balcony.
This week, Bar Lab launches pre-batched cocktail kits with everything you need to make their yummy drinks yourself. Each one is $35 and includes four mixer pouches that yield a total of eight drinks, plus garnishes for each. All you have to do is open the package, add the suggested alcohol, shake and enjoy. Unfortunately, Bar Lab isn’t legally allowed to sell alcohol, so you’ll need to secure the spirit beforehand. Everything else, though, they’ve got handled.
Kits can be ordered by emailing order@bar-lab.com. Payments can also be made via email with a credit card on Venmo to username bar-lab-1. (Proceeds from all sales benefit Bar Lab’s GoFundMe, which is raising money for the company’s 200-plus employees who’ve been laid off.) Once you’re all paid up, you’ll get the option of having your kit delivered on Monday, Wednesday or Friday.
As a special treat to customers this week, Bar Lab founders Gabe and Elad are hosting a virtual happy hour for everyone who places an order by 6pm this Friday. Each person will receive an email with a link to the video conference plus a link to a playlist they’ve curated for the occasion.
Get your Adirondack chairs and mismatched patio furniture in order, guys. It’s time to channel those Shaker vibes this Friday.
