In an act of brazen disregard for Miami summers, the EPIC Hotel announces its new rooftop restaurant this week. EPIC Pop-Up, opening Friday, July 13, will be a balmy 45-seat Mediterranean joint along the property’s 16th-floor pool overlooking Biscayne Bay. The restaurant plans to open for dinner exclusively, Thursday to Saturday from 6 to 10pm, through the end of the season.

The menu, created by chef Alex Oliver of the adjacent Area 31, is a smattering of Spanish, Italian and Greek dishes—the kind of light, shareable, seasonable fare you’d find served across European coastal cities all summer. Thankfully, you won’t need a passport to snack on fresh octopus, grilled skirt steak and juicy cantaloupe wrapped in slices of serrano jam, among other delicious-sounding tapas. Drinks follow suit with a list of large-format cocktails and spiked fruity punches you’ll want to sip with friends.

Is it too hot for a rooftop restaurant? Yes. Will that keep us from schvitzing through dinner to capture the perfect rooftop cocktail shot at sunset? Maybe, though not if you’re the person who wears sweaters in 70-degree weather. And honestly, that is all us. See you there?
