Michael Schwartz is coming back to Miami Beach.

Miami’s most prolific chef and restaurateur just announced he’s partnering with COMO Hotels and Resorts to open a new restaurant at the COMO Metropolitan Miami Beach sometime later this year. The as-yet-named spot will live in the property’s former Traymore Restaurant and Gin Bar space and serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch. In addition to helming the restaurant, Schwartz and his Genuine Hospitality Group, which already own 10 restaurants, will oversee COMO’s food and beverage program.

The chef hasn’t worked in Miami Beach since 2015 when he ended his commitment to the Raleigh Hotel. And little else is known about what Schwartz and his team have planned this time around: The restaurant is slated for the “2018-2019 season,” which implies Art Basel and the dizzying fringing months, but neither the concept nor the menu has been confirmed.

Will it be a small plates kind of place like Amara? Will we see more of Schwartz’s signature pizzas? Or will he take Michael’s roasted double-yolk egg with him to Miami Beach?

Maybe it’s all three: a tiny, wood-fired pizza topped with a double-yolk egg. Michael, call us. We’ll help you brainstorm.
