There’s never been a greater demand for waterfront restaurants in Miami. People have always appreciated a good view but it’s even more appealing when it helps with social distancing. And now next week, Coral Gables gets a waterfront restaurant of its own.

Formerly Red Fish Grill, Redfish by Chef Adrianne at Matheson Hammock Park reopens to the public on June 23 after Hurricane Irma all but destroyed it nearly three years ago. The historic property was completely rebuilt to include a cozy interior, an expansive outdoor patio with four waterfront cabanas and a rooftop deck boasting 360-degree views of the Biscayne Bay.

Beyond the cosmetic changes, Redfish’s menu received quite the overhaul now that chef Adrianne Calvo is at the helm. She spent months pouring over the seafood selection, traveling the country alongside executive chef Eglis Siu in search of high-quality purveyors. Oysters were at the center of her quest. The trendy bivalves weren’t part of the restaurant’s original menu, which was mostly classic dishes bordering on old-fashioned, but Calvo is showcasing them prominently this time around with selections from Maine and the Pacific Northwest. The rest of the menu is still under wraps, but reps for the restaurant promise items with “maximum flavor.” We hope you like your fish with a kick.

Redfish will be open for lunch and dinner starting on June 23, from 11am to 10pm Tuesday through Thursday and from 11am to 11pm Friday and Saturday. Brunch and dinner will be served on Sunday, from 11am to 9pm. Reservations are a must and can be made by visiting redfishmiami.com.
