Miami isn’t exactly short on flashy dining experiences, but the city is about to get one of its most ambitious yet. On September 26, Amazónico, the Madrid-based restaurant and lounge with outposts in London, Dubai and Monte Carlo, makes its long-awaited U.S. debut in Brickell. And true to form, this is no simple restaurant: Amazónico is a three-story playground of food, music and design that feels equal parts rainforest fantasy and late-night party.

The concept, created in 2016 by husband-and-wife team Sandro Silva and Marta Seco, is famed for its lush interiors and high-energy approach to dining, drawing inspiration from the cultural vibrancy of Latin America and the glamour of '70s Brazil. “Miami was the natural next step,” the founders said in a statement, citing the city’s rhythm and cultural energy as a perfect fit. (Obviously.)

The ground floor houses the main restaurant, divided between indoor and open-air spaces and anchored by a stage for nightly live performances. An open kitchen brings guests close to the action, watching as the menu (which fuses Brazilian traditions with a global sensibility) comes to life.

Up a mirrored staircase, the second floor shifts the mood to a high-octane bar and lounge with DJs and percussionists. The cocktails are as playful as they are precise. A sushi counter offers crudos, nigiris and makis in a more intimate setting, while a private dining room seats up to 14.

The third-floor rooftop, set to open in October, adds another layer. Here, Miami’s skyline glows while the patrons can order from the full cocktail menu in a more seductive, late-night setting. A separate nightlife venue, designed as a chic hideaway modeled after Amazónico’s Monte Carlo club, will debut later this year.

Spanish designer Lázaro Rosa Violán oversaw the interiors, layering deep greens, volcanic stone, tropical woods and woven textures with Brazilian modernist influences. The result is a transportive, jungle-like escape in the middle of Brickell that nevertheless feels distinctly Miami. With the restaurant open until 12:30am on weekends and the lounge until 3am, Amazónico is poised to become one of the city’s buzziest new dining and nightlife destinations.

Amazónico opens on September 26 at 800 Brickell Ave, with reservations available starting today, September 18, at amazonicorestaurant.com/miami.
