Fri 15

CeeLo Green at Faena Theater

Didn’t get your fill of music during Art Basel? Grammy-winning singer and producer CeeLo Green dishes more hits at Faena Theater for your listening pleasure. Hear him belt out chart-toppers like “Forget You,” “Cry Baby” and others.

Cirque du Soleil: Volta

Cirque du Soleil’s 41st production could be its most futuristic show to date, with an electro-pop soundtrack by indie hitmakers M83 and a premise that takes viewers light years into space. Volta, like many other Cirque productions, centers around a conflicted main character named WAZ whose journey to enlightenment is chronicled through explosive performances and spellbinding acrobatics. It’s not your typical story of personal transformation, as characters in technicolor costumes leap across the stage, rollerblade by and fly over audiences.

Sat 16

The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddess

Reconnect with childhood favorites Link and Princess Zelda during an evening at the symphony. Video-game clips are projected onto a large screen while a live orchestra plays melodies from the famous Legend of Zelda franchise.

Wynwood: A History of Street Art Tour

Even after years of walking past them, do you have any idea what most of your favorite Wynwood murals mean? Get the backstory to the neighborhood’s most popular art on this guided excursion led by HistoryMiami Museum, which wraps up with a tour of Concrete Beach Brewery and a beer tasting.

Sun 17

School of Rock: The Musical

This stage adaptation of one of the most enduring film comedies of the 2000s warmed the cockles of even the most ardent skeptics’ hearts when it premiered on Broadway in 2015, leaving an awestruck Jack Black to reportedly tell the cast, “There were so many times I went, ‘I could not have done it that well.’” Lloyd Webber, who knows something about rock musicals, penned the score.

Counter Corner

Hialeah’s hottest drag queens, Juleisy and Karla, know how to throw a party—so much so that their monthly Counter Corner drag party outgrew its initial home at the Corner and moved up the street to 1306. Every third Sunday, the young and fabulous pack the joint to prolong the weekend.
