Fri 1

First Fridays Beach Picnic

It’s official: summer is here and it kicks off with the first of four free monthly beach picnics in Surfside this season. Each fete is themed, with June 1’s inaugural bash throwing it back to the ’60s and the Summer of Love. Rock your tie-dye tees, adorn your hair with flower crowns, chill out to retro tunes and enjoy complimentary mini massages from Carillon Miami Wellness Resort. The picnic takes place on the sand behind the Surfside Community Center.

Luis Miguel

Latin superstar Luis Miguel hits the road in support of his latest studio album !México Por Siempre!, and Miami is among the North America tour’s 22 stops. With more than 33 albums and multiple Grammy wins, Luis Miguel’s performance is one you don’t want to miss.

Summer Shorts

City Theatre presents its annual curated selection of the past year’s best short comedies, dramas and musicals, which are culled from countless submissions, organized into a 90-minute program and performed by an ensemble of South Florida’s finest actors. The 2018 lineup includes Ailurphobia by Scott Gibson, the Almost In-Laws by Andy Roninson and several others.

Sat 2

Drink Hostel

Nearly two dozen spirit brand ambassadors take over the Freehand Miami for a roving cocktail tasting, featuring a new drinking experience in every room. You’ll get handed rum-filled coconuts, take tequila shots from a water gun and do plenty of binging, chugging and sipping (but, hopefully, little puking) while getting the lowdown on trends and mixes from the pros. Hold on to your liver, friends.

Propel Co: Labs Fitness Festival

This is the place to be if you’re serious about staying in shape. The festival doesn’t just feature in-depth discussions on nutrition, health and fitness; there’s also musical performances, cutting-edge workouts led by the industry’s top instructors, and studios and appearances from stars such as Wyclef Jean and Janet Jones of Vixen Workout.

Discovering Design Free Family Day: My Map!

Maybe your big summer vacay of 2018 is in the books or perhaps your next big getaway is in the works. Either way, thinking about travel is fun. Spark your kiddos’ wanderlust this weekend with a free map-making workshop where they can plot past journeys and get excited about upcoming adventures.

Coconut Grove Free Historic Bike Tour

Coconut Grove isn’t just Miami’s prettiest neighborhood—it’s the most historic, as well. Admire both its beauty and significance on local historian Frank Schena’s free bike tour: You’ll learn about the area’s architecture, foliage and fascinating past. The Album

Eighteen years after their groundbreaking play The Laramie Project investigated the aftermath of a homophobic crime, Moisés Kaufman and the Tectonic Theater Project examine another historical stain. The Album—inspired by the so-called Höcker Album, which contains real-life photographs of Nazi officers enjoying life at a retreat just 20 miles from Auschwitz—aims to explore the human capacity for profound evil.

Sun 3

Coffee & Exotic Cars at Canvas

Peep several of the world’s rarest sports cars at this free car show in Downtown. From ‘60s-era Porsches and Corvettes to super-fast Ferraris, nearly every dream mobile will be on display. Coffee, craft brews and cool tunes make this a chill afternoon.
