There’s a new burlesque supper club popping up in Wynwood

Direct from New York City, OMAR’S/La Plage brings a new kind of immersive nightlife experience to Miami this May.

Of all the New York things that have invaded Miami over the past year, OMAR’s La Plage is one of the more intriguing options. The collective nightlife experience combines a supper club with a burlesque show and adds a layer of exclusivity that Miamians won’t be able to resist. We love a velvet rope more than most, especially when it involves celebs as most OMAR’s events do.

The underground party continues the tradition of its namesake, Omar Hernandez, a restaurateur and NYC nightlife force, who sprinkled his party dust all over Manhattan. He’s responsible for OMAR’s/La Boite in the Lower East Side, Omar at Vaucluse in the Upper East Side and Omar’s La Ranita in Greenwich Village. This new endeavor taking over The Moon, a private room on the first floor of the Astra building (2121 NW Second Ave).

Hernandez’s other concepts are a hybrid restaurant/membership club model, but La Plage will be slightly more inclusive with a seated dinner and a show available by reservation (via email or Resy). The á-la-carte meal will be an extravagant affair with seafood plates, such as Chilean seabass, lobster tagliolini and a hamachi crudo with black caviar and gold leaf.

The real draw of an OMAR’s soirée is the after-party and the lucky few who manage to stick around after dinner will get a taste of the NYC VIP club scene. It’s rumored that the first of these events already has a boy bander and a Saudi Prince on its guest list… La Plage pops up at The Moon at Astra every Thursday in May, starting May 6. Its future is uncertain but if the number of New Yorkers still roaming the Miami streets is an indicator, it could be around forever.
