This award-winning restaurant brings back its crave-worthy sandwiches

La Pollita fried chicken, eggplant parm and more of Boia De’s lockdown specials return this week for a limited time.

Second only to Publix subs (a Floridian classic), Boia De’s sandwiches have been the most popular handheld food this summer. They launched at the height of lockdown, when the Little Haiti restaurant closed its dining room and pivoted to takeout. And they were gone just as quickly when Boia De resumed dine-in service.

It was a grim few weeks without access to our favorite muffuletta, but it returns this week along with the rest of the restaurant’s most popular sandwiches. (It’s perhaps one of the few silver linings of restaurants closing their dining rooms.) Available for takeout only, the dinnertime selection includes the aforementioned New Orleans stacker as well as an eggplant parm sammie. La Pollita’s fried chicken sandwich is also returning, though this food truck classic will only be available on Sundays from noon until it sells out. It goes on sale on Sunday, July 19, and preorders are highly encouraged.

While you won’t be able to order a sandwich if you decide to stay, Boia De is giving guests the option to dine outdoors at one of its newly minted sidewalk tables. There’s shaded seating for 19 people, plus a designated area for takeout orders. That’s where you’ll find us, sipping a glass of natty wine while we wait for our hundredth muffuletta this summer.
