Have you ever had a bite of something that was so good you couldn’t stop thinking about it after—your next meal a sad reminder of the exceptional thing you just ate? It’s pretty much how we’ve been feeling from the moment we tried the hot honey chicken at Chick’n Jones. And now, the crispy bird that’s been invading our thoughts is finally here for everyone to enjoy: Chick’n Jones is coming to Time Out Market!

Opening today, July 7, Amaris Jones’ modern soul food spot serves chef-driven fried chicken (hot and original)—available in sandwich form, by the bucket or atop a fresh kale salad. The celebrity chef and entrepreneur says she’s been perfecting the recipe for years ever since diners had their first taste of the best-selling dish at South Street Restaurant & Bar, her former Motown-inspired spot in the Miami Design District. “It’s my mother’s recipe but I added different spices and influences from around the world and made it my own,” says Jones of the trendy chicken with downhome flavors.

Chick’n Jones walks the line between healthy and indulgent, but it’s the treat-yourself meals you’ll want to try. Her signature hot-honey crispy chicken sandwich piled with southern slaw on a brioche bun is pretty much the sandwich of our dreams. For a little star power, order up the loaded spicy taco fries featured on OWN’s Food Fantasies. They’re a grown-up riff on a dish she grew up eating in her hometown of Philadelphia and they pair excellently with a cocktail. And if it’s brunch time, you’re throwing in an order of the Jonesville truffle honey hot Chick’n and cheddar chive waffles. It’s a must.

Now, if you’ll excuse us, the doors are about to swing open and we want to be first in line to get a sando.
