Where to get tipsy on National Margarita Day in Miami

This Thursday is National Margarita Day and, in all honesty, food holidays are silly marketing ploys designed to make us spend our money. On the other hand, is anything that gives us an excuse to drink cheaper-than-normal margaritas on a Thursday really that bad? We think not. Keep these silly food holidays coming, corporate America, as long as they promote things as delicious as the margarita.

1. Kiki on the River

Stop by the gorgeous waterfront eatery for $10 Casa Picante margaritas this Thursday. The special starts at 5:30pm—and coincides with a happy hour menu of tasty Greek bites.

2. Broken Shaker

Over at Miami Beach’s quintessential cocktail joint, an out-of town guest will be stepping behind the bar. Atlanta’s S.O.S. Tiki Bar will guest bartend, serving an assortment of tiki cocktails, while, upstairs at 27, classic margaritas will go for $8.

3. Cantina La Veinte

The upscale Brickell Mexican joint is offering $10 margs all day (way down from the usual $20–$25 per cocktail). Choose from flavors like coconut, passion fruit, spicy jalapeño and more. But, if you miss this Thursday (and you happen to be a lady), stop by Cantina every Wednesday from 5pm to 10pm for free margaritas for any lucky woman sitting at the bar.

4. Duffy’s Sports Grill

Stop by any Duffy’s location in Kendall and North Miami Beach after 5pm for very reasonable $3 Sauza Tequila and $7 Patron margaritas. And then prepare to tell your Uber driver some very personal secrets on the way home.

5. Nikki Beach

The South Beach day-drinking mecca offers $7 margaritas all day. Take your pick from jalapeño cucumber, strawberry or skinny margs for the calorie-concerned who will be imbibing whilst in a bikini.

6. Brimstone Woodfire Grill

The Doral (as well as the Pembroke Pines) location of Brimstone is offering jalapeño margaritas and añejo margaritas for $7. In addition to that deal, all Don Julio Passion Fruit Martinis will be half off.

7. Tap 42

Stop by any Tap 42 location (in Broward and Miami) for a taste of the gastropub’s special blueberry margarita. It pairs well with the Prohibition Burger and—honestly—anything else on the menu.

8. Hotel Colonnade Coral Gables

You can stop by the lobby bar of the Gables hotel Thursday through March 1 to taste a drink made specially for National Margarita Day. The “Margarita Vice” includes butterfly-pea flower tea, reposado tequila, Ferrand dry curacao and simple syrup.

9. Rocco’s Tacos

Don’t worry, Fort Lauderdale! There’s a special for you too. Rocco’s Tacos is prepared to serve you $2 tacos and $5 specialty cocktails and margaritas from midnight to 2am. Plus, half-off select shots!

10. Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen

The Fort Lauderdale restaurant is offering $7 margaritas from 4pm to 6pm.
