Welcome to Food Envy, where we’ll highlight different dishes from Time Out Market Miami that we think you’re going to love—partly because we do. This week, we’re eating all the carbs at Bachour, especially the gooey dulce de leche croissant.

RECOMMENDED: Guide to Time Out Market Miami

We know that living in Miami, carbs are the devil. But there’s just something about the croissants at Bachour that makes us heedlessly jump over to the dark side and forget all about the year-round swimsuit season. However, if we had to guess, our obsession with these pillowy confections boils down to the array of flavors in which Antonio Bachour bakes them—from red velvet and Nutella to almond and chocolate. Though his dulce de leche—baked into a cylindrical shape and generously filled with caramel—literally stands above the rest.

It’s become a recent practice to tear your desserts in half, exposing their gooey center for the camera and capturing them for all of Instagram to drool right alongside you. We’re all for eating for the ’gram but would admittedly do the exact same thing even if we weren’t trying to show off our food on social media. Seeing all that dulce de leche ooze is part of the experience. And, pro-tip, breaking apart your pastry guarantees a nearly perfect bite with the ideal ratio of filling-to-bread. We won’t lie: it’s indulgent, but it’s the kind of decadence you won’t soon regret.
