In the pulse of Italy’s fashion capital, the Park Hyatt Milano combines family-friendly luxury with bold, Milanese pride. With an idyllic location next to all of Milan’s landmarks, fresh room renovations, quality amenities, Milanese dining experiences and a concierge service that won’t quit, the Park Hyatt Milano exceeds all expectations that you look for in an elite, haute couture holiday.

Why stay at Park Hyatt Milano?

Staying at the PHM means staying in a little piece of Milan’s fashion history. It was originally built as a palazzo in the 1870s before it was converted into the city’s very first department store, Aux Villes de Paris, (later changing the name to Aux Villes d'Italie, then the iconic La Rinascente) in 1877. After its closure, the building was transformed into the Park Hyatt Milano in 2003, and recently celebrated its 20-year anniversary with a 20 million-euro glow-up that was completed in 2022. .

Now, the PHM provides opulence and warm hospitality encased in Italian marbles and surrounded by historical architecture, high fashion and Milanese magnificence.

What is the service like at Park Hyatt Milano?

Outstanding. The management and concierges know the ins-and-outs of Milan and will move mountains for you (or at least give you plenty of Mirto and panettone recommendations). There’s also tip-top room service, snazzy bartenders and nurturing spa attendants who bring you back to life.

What are the rooms like at Park Hyatt Milano?

Each of the hotel’s 108 rooms are decorated with light, elegant, neutral tones and artwork that you’d fawn over in a gallery, along with heaven-sent king beds, fine, Italian bedding and blackout curtains. This includes 26 stately suites (some designed by Flaviano Capriotti, one of the world’s leading architects, according to Architectural Digest) that may or may not have been visited by celebs like the Obamas, Angela Merkel and Lady Gaga.

Balconies are limited, but out the large windows, you might find fashionistas jetting to the designer shops of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, tourists sharing cups of Savini’s gelato or the hotel’s grand dome that shelters La Cupola.

The real view is the bathroom – a paradise of Italian marble that’s equipped with a walk-in waterfall shower (excellent pressure, might I add), a vanity mirror and seat, quality bath products and a bathtub that could probably fully submerge a miniature pony. There’s also a generous mini bar, 24-hour room service and housekeeping twice a day.

What is the food like at Park Hyatt Milano?

You don’t have to look far to find proper Milanese cuisine. Head chef Guido Paternollo is Milan born-and-bred, and runs the hotel’s Michelin-guide-featured kitchen, Pellico 3, where he and his team create local-inspired dishes with novel twists and Instagrammable presentation.

La Cupola is the PHM’s more casual, all-day space, but there’s nothing casual about it. The circular layout matches the hotel’s dome above, and its wall of mirrors around the tables reflect light and its chic-minimal surroundings. Feast on an elaborate breakfast buffet spread, enjoy a sensational prawn caesar salad for lunch, or sneak a cheeky, late-night spritz before heading up to your room or out into Milan’s lavish nightlife.

However, if you want a night-out feel while staying in, the hotel’s bar, Mio Lab, shakes up campari cocktails and aperitifs as good as El Camparino without the crowds or wait time, served in the bar’s custom-made glasses with a single, red-painted stripe.

But honestly, the best part is the 24-hour room service.

What else will I find at Park Hyatt Milano?

Down in the basement floor is the AQVAM SPA, a peach-coloured, dim-lit wellness paradise for face and body treatments, hot tub soaking, tea drinking and head-to-toe relaxation. There’s a fitness center with a hefty amount of quality gym equipment, private treatment rooms, comfy, curvy loungers and a 24-k gold-tiled jacuzzi as the spa’s centerpiece. Tip: Ask for Rosa

Make your way to the first floor and you’ll find the gleaming Beppe D'Elia Hair Jewellery Salon for beauty necessities for all genders, including a precious collection of quality jewellery made of the finest Italian metals, diamonds and stones.

What’s the area like around the Park Hyatt Milano?

At the PHM, you have Milan’s metropolitan, historical and cultural masterpieces at your feet.

There’s the Teatro alla Scala opera house, the magnificent Duomo di Milano, the second largest Gothic cathedral in the world, the 19th-century-built Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II shopping mall all within less than five minutes from the hotel entrance.

And while you’re there, you might as well shop. The Galleria holds the highest designer clothes under one immaculately designed iron and glass ceiling, including the very first Prada store with its original signage, ‘Fratelli Prada’, still adorning the entrance. You might also find first-time visitors spinning their heels on the genitals of a bull on the Galleria's floor mosaic where, rumour has it, if you spin three times and make a wish, it’ll come true.

As for restaurants and bars, you’re riddled with them – from overpriced tourist traps (but with excellent views for people watching), to street food vendors selling roasted chestnuts and gelato, to El Camparino, the beloved birthplace of Campari, also within the Galleria.

Why should you book a stay at Park Hyatt Milano?

In a city where fashion takes the centre stage, staying at the Park Hyatt Milano is like getting front row seats to the show. The Galleria and Duomo di Milano are right at your feet, and when your feet get tired, the Park Hyatt Milano is there to bring you back to life in style.
