Commuters, beware.

It's the third strike in less than a year: Bus and métro schedules will be reduced throughout the week, including weekends, and paratransit service will be maintained during the strike.

And just when you thought that was bad, on November 1, 2025, there will be no bus or metro service.

When is the strike happening in November?

The strike will start on November 1, 2025, and run until November 28, 2025.

What are the metro hours during the STM strike?

Service will run as usual on October 31, until the end of service.

There will be no service on November 1, 2025.

As of November 2, 2025, metro service is only offered during these time periods:

  • Between 6:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.
  • Between 2:45 p.m. and 5:45 p.m.
  • Between 11 p.m. and the usual metro closing time

Time Out Tip: Stations will gradually close as the last train passes, so consult the schedules for the exact time of the last departure at your specific station.

The metro only opens at 6:30 a.m. from November 2 to 28, 2025.

No trains will be in service before that time and station entrances will be locked.

What are the schedules of the last trains?

Consult this link to find the most up to date train, bus and paratransit schedules.

Will it be possible to wait inside the station for the service to return?

The stations will be completely closed between periods of service.

According to the STM website, the stations will be locked because of a safety issue: electrified track, avoiding crowd management, moving trains, work in progress, etc.

Will transit users affected by the strike be compensated?

According to the site, the ARTM is not planning on issuing refunds for validated monthly or weekly passes.

Other fare types can be used at a later date or may be eligible for a refund, in line with the ARTM’s exchange and refund policy.

The exchange and refund policy is determined by the ARTM, which decides on pricing issues for the STM.

If you have purchased a monthly pass for the coming month, it is refundable as long as it has not yet begun its first day of validity.

If you have not yet purchased any passes, once we know the restricted service schedules and share them with you, if you have no alternative, you will be able to select the passes that best suit your needs.
