When do Montreal's Christmas markets open for 2024? Full list of major markets and opening dates

The countdown to Christmas has officially begun.

Once Halloween is behind us, Montreal goes straight into holiday mode.

From checking out the city’s more sparkly Christmas lights to the arrival of the (free) holiday train, there are plenty of ways to get into the festive spirit—including sipping on a cup of hot chocolate, with a matcha white chocolate chip cookie in hand, at Time Out Market Montreal after visiting the many Christmas markets. 

From the Old Port to Jean-Talon Market, Montreal has plenty of markets to explore.

But when do these festive markets open for 2024? 

Here are the dates to mark on your calendar if you’re planning to enjoy Montreal’s holiday markets this year.

1. Montreal Christmas Village

Open from November 28 and running every weekend until December 22, 2024.

2. The Great Christmas Market

Open from November 22 to December 30, 2024.

3. Jean-Talon Christmas Market

Open for three weekends starting in late November. 

4. Marché des Fêtes au Locoshop Angus 

Open from November 16 and 17, and then 23 and 24, 2024. 

5. Puces Pop Holiday Edition

Open for two weekends in December.

6. Salon des métiers d’arts du Québec à Montréal

Open from December 12 to 22, 2024.

7. Marché de Noël de L’Assomption

Open from November 28 to December 23, 2024.

8. Marché de Noël de Laval

Open from December 6 to 8 and 13 to 15, 2024.

9. Saint-Hyacinthe Christmas Market

Open from December 6 to 22, 2024.

10. Marché de Noël et des Traditions de Longueuil

Open over four weekends from November 29 to December 22, 2024. 

11. Vegan Christmas Market

Open from December 7 and 8, 2024.

12. Marché de Noël Illustratif & Ludique

Open every weekend throughout the month of December.

13. Marchés des Fêtes du Collectif Créatif de Montréal

The Collectif Créatif Etsy Montréal puts on a whole bunch of craft fairs over the Holiday period. Locoshop Angus is open from November 16 to 17 and 23 to 24. Verdun Auditorium is open for two weekends from November 30 to December 1 and December 7 to 8, 2024. And finally Théâtre Denise-Pelletier is open from December 13 to 15, 2024. 

14. Indigenous Winter Market

Open from December 6 to 8, 2024.
