This weekend immersion will include an introduction to the science and medicine of Ayurveda, one of the oldest forms of medicine indigenous to India and how to apply to your life.

Key discussions to attaining harmony to the health of the body through the elements, discovering ones constitution and diagnosing treatments of the “doshas” will take place in lecture, pulse reading and in depth constitution based asana practices so that you receive the optimal benefit from your practice.

Long asana practices will also take place all weekend. The word “sadhana” is translated as spiritual practice and is expressed in the physical body. Embodying balance is the key to health within our lives. In this practice we will access what the expression of balance is for you. Our goal is to get you into more challenging poses over the course of the weekend.

Along with asana, in this immersion, one will learn more and receive feedback in poses that are more challenging to their practice due to their tendencies. This will warm one up to break down the asanas as to assist others and get assisted with the use of the hands and verbal cues.

The Art of Assists and their asanas will be broken down from an Ayurvedic perspective, going over poses that activate and balance each constitution. Student’s in this course will receive may demonstrations, break downs of asana and will give and receive as to more deeply refine specific poses where they are imbalanced.

This immersion is optimal for anyone, teacher or student wishing to advance, evolve and personally prescribe balance and order back to the body.

We will also discuss the approach, discernment & eagle eye before entering into the intimacy of asanas in our Art of Assists portion, honoring many unique body types, tendencies and constitutions of students so that any student receive exactly what they need with economy of time.

Michelle has just received a certification in Ayurvedic Counseling and will be bringing back new and old information from her studies. She will also be available for private Ayurvedic consultations after this course.
