The Mississippi River is a huge part of our lives here in New Orleans, though it's so steady and ever-present that it's sometimes easy to forget just how important it is to the city. Bienville founded New Orleans at the bend in the river known as the Crescent because of its strategic location for trade, which continues to drive our economy today. The Port of New Orleans remains an economic powerhouse, a vibrant hub for this city, home to lots of exciting companies ... many of which have career opportunities for young, smart people like yourselves.
So let's go check it out! The good people there have invited 504ward and its members for an insider's tour of the Port of New Orleans, to let you see the bold vision they have for the future and the good work that's already being done there. We'll meet Thursday, October 6th at 5:45 p.m. at 1350 Port of New Orleans Place, then head out on a boat for a guided river tour to see the Port in action. We'll also have connectors from the industry joining us, so that you can hear first hand what a career in trade and logistics in New Orleans is like.
