Fifteen years ago, Una and Ray had a relationship when Una was 12 and Ray was 40. They haven’t set eyes on each other since. Their liaison left Ray in prison, and left Una a psychologically scarred outcast. Once his sentence was up, Ray moved across the country, changed his name, and worked to rebuild his life from the ground up. Now she has found him again and traveled across the country to confront him, seeking answers and closure.

Directed by Meghan Rose Shea
Starring Ashton Akridge and John Neisler
Kathryn Sternberger as stage manager, Glenn Aucoin Jr as sound designer, Matthew Symon Collier as set designer, and Diane Bass as light designer.

“Harrower's drama positively explodes with unresolved, and possibly irresolvable, concerns . . . his brooding ambiguity and his dry, resonating poetry culminate in one of the most daring new plays of recent years.” - Sunday Herald

“Blackbird dissects pedophilia but also transcends that subject, finding universality in extreme circumstances. Anyone who's ever tried to revisit a failed relationship—a broken love affair, a marriage that ended in bitter divorce, a childhood with abusive parents—will understand the challenge Una and Ray face as they sort through the secrets and self-deceptions…” -Chicago Reader
