Emilie Rhys Exhibition Opening Reception says
Preservation Hall is proud to present an exhibition of works-on-paper by Emilie Rhys during this year’s French Quarter Fest. Rhys, the daughter of artist Noel Rockmore whose portraits of early musicians that performed at the Hall still hang today, continues the tradition of her father before her with numerous paintings and drawings of a variety of New Orleans musicians, including many members of the present Preservation Hall musical collective. For this show, we’ll be offering for the first time her large-format (16X20 and 20X24) illustrations of Preservation Hall musicians, as well as a greatly expanded choice of 8×10 prints. There will be an opening reception on Thursday, April 7 from 5 to 7 PM, and Ms. Rhys will be doing signings of her prints on Saturday, April 9 and Sunday, April 10 from 3 to 4 PM. These events are free and open to the public.
