The LEH joins Le Musée de f.p.c. and the McKenna Museum of African American Art | New Orleans for a special screening of the acclaimed documentary. Jari Honora will introduce the film. The event is free and open to the public.

In the years following the Civil War, insidious new forms of forced labor emerged in the American South, keeping hundreds of thousands of African Americans in bondage, trapping them in a brutal system that would persist until the onset of World War II. "Slavery By Another Name" is one of four films screened through the National Endowment for the Humanities' Created Equal initiative.

The Louisiana Humanities Center is located at 938 Lafayette Street in the CBD. Doors open at 5:45.
