Happy Hour For Baton Rouge says
No one knows better than New Orleanians what a disastrous flood can do. Our neighbors in Baton Rouge need our help, and while they assess the damage their homes have endured, the best gifts we can give them are gift cards.

Join us at Tracey’s Original Irish Channel Bar (2604 Magazine St.) tomorrow! Stop by any time between 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. and we’ll be there to collect your gift cards. Home Depot and Lowe's gift cards are especially needed.

JNOLA is also organizing a volunteer day meet up for this Saturday, August 20 to work with NECHAMA, the Jewish disaster relief organization. For those wishing to volunteer, the work will be dirty and you should dress accordingly. Wear sturdy shoes such as work boots or strong tennis shoes, bring rubber boots if you have them (there may still be mud or standing water in some houses), and make sure to pack yourself a lunch and water. We will be meeting in Baton Rouge at 10:00 a.m. and the work day will last until 4:30 p.m. We understand that some people may have physical limitations, so we ask that those attending work at least a four-hour shift. Carpooling is encouraged!

In order to volunteer you MUST email Tana Velen at tana@jewishnola.com by Friday, August 19 at 2:00 p.m. If you have other volunteer questions (including carpooling) or questions about the gift card drive you can also email her.

Thank you for your generosity in these tough times!
