The event creator says
Playhouse Nola presents Jeffrey Hatcher's brilliant adaptation of Henry James's classic Victorian ghost story. The play uses just two actors to create James's Gothic world. Kate Adair portrays the governess and Gavin Robinson portrays all other characters, as well as provides sound effects and music.

Directed by Ji Un Choi, she chose this particular story due to the intimate size of the theater as well as the story's ambiguity. "As this story entails desire, haunting, and madness, it is a perfect fit for New Orleans--a city known for its eccentricities, ghosts, and affinity with the extraordinary."

A passion project for all involved, the production features costumes by Patricia Gorman, original artwork by Senan O'Connor and graphics by Melanie Innis.

Playhouse Nola is a new store-front theater in the Bywater that Dustan Costine opened in the fall of 2014 to provide an arts space that is open to the community and artists who are not necessarily part of the already-existent theater circles in New Orleans.
