New Orleans, LA 4/9/2015- Tipitina’s will host a benefit for New Orleans drummer, Eric Bolivar, who was unexpectedly diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) and Stage 5 Kidney failure in January. Eric is undergoing daily dialysis treatments and as such cannot work or tour as he was accustomed to. He will eventually need a kidney transplant in order to survive. The New Orleans music community has rallied around Bolivar and many musicians are scheduled to perform at this event.

Doors will open at 8pm with Harry Shearer as Master of Ceremonies for the evening followed by a cast of New Orleans musicians representing various musical genres such as:

Eric Bolivar Band featuring Khris Royal, Cassandra Faulconer, Andrew Block, Erica Falls & Nigel Hall ,Honey Island Swamp band with Dave Jordan and Johnny Vidacovich, Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes With Dave Malone (from the Radiators), Bonerama With Dave Malone and Jon Gross, Billy Iuso and the Restless Natives w/ Michael Fou, Ian Smith and Khris Royal, Terry Mcdermott from the “Voice”, Big D (from Jon Cleary band) and Donny Sundal (Boukou Groove), Dave Rosser (from Afghan wigs) John Gros, Eric Cotton, Papa Mali, Colin Lake, Kirk Joseph (from Dirty Dozen Brass Band), Ron Johnson, Shamarr Allen, Margie Perez, Arsene Delay and others; with Billy Iuso acting a musical director.

In addition to the musicians listed above, New Orleans area drummers will be a special part of the night making appearances and taking turns at the drum kit. Just some of these musicians include: Stanton Moore, Russell Batiste, Alvin Ford, Aron Lambert, Jermal Watson, Derrick Freeman, Terrance Houston and others.

Two of New Orleans best live event painters will also be participating, Frenchy ( and John Bukaty ( will paint live at the event. This piece of artwork will then be auctioned online to collect funds. In addition to an online auctions, a raffle will also be part of the event with artwork from various artists from all over the country. All money collected from this event will go to Eric Bolivar for medical and living expenses.
