The Little Gem Saloon's Jazzfest at the Gem presents Hidden Gems, a show featuring artists who you may not get to see anywhere else in the City during Jazzfest. We will have a selecrion of dinner and drink specials for the evening.

Jon Roniger is infamous for original songs of debaucheries and poetic mayhem straight out of the devil's den. Simply stated in his song “ NEW ORLEANS LULLABY “, he says, “ I love the calamity, that holy insanity, I’m honored to swim in her angelic profanity”. As goes the voodoo ham hock and the unholy trinity, so goes the sum of the soulful music of Jon Roniger.

Holly Bowling is a classically trained pianist who began playing piano at the age of five. Her devotion to the rock band Phish is one major distinction that separates her from other similarly studied musicians. Having attended over 300 showst, she became obsessed by their famous rendition of “Tweezer” led Holly to transcribe this 37-minute improvisational masterpiece note-for-note and arrange it for solo piano. The process inspired her to transform other Phish songs and well-known live jams into solo piano interpretations. Holly’s breathtaking renditions stand on their own as fully developed classical pieces. The past year has seen Holly expand her repertoire into the realm of the Grateful Dead, Holly’s live performances infuse new with old, tradition with surreal, and creates a concert experience like nothing else in the music world.

Tracorum’s contagious musical journeying is a blend of southern swamp pop, soul, honky tonk, roots rock americana with a rhythmic diversity that adds elements of funk, latin-caribbean and gospel stomp to their unique sound. Great songwriting steeped in rich vocal harmonies and urban storytelling are the vehicle on which this powerful quartet had made their national ascent.

Kettle Black is a new band formed by Keith Burnstein. Keith is a New Orleans based singer-songwriter and pianist who pens timeless tunes to live by. His is a new American songbook, one that draws as much from Tin Pan Alley as it does from modern geniuses like Jeff Tweedy, Keith Jarret and Dr. John.
