New Orleans Eat Local Challenge says
Local Foods, Local Music, Local Libations and a motivational kick off pep talk will be on the menu at the Kick Off for the 5th Annual New Orleans Eat Local Challenge.

Wonderful locally-sourced dishes from a few of New Orleans finest chefs, including:
--Chef Matt Murphy from The Irish House
--Chef Ryan Hughes from Purloo
--Chef Adolfo Garcia from Primitivo
--Chef Paul Artiques from The Green Goddess
--Chef Mike Nirenberg from Fulton Alley
--Chefs from Rouses will serve local goat kabobs with meat from Royal Farms
--Chefs from Camellia Brand Red Beans and Cajun Country Rice will be serving the best local Red Beans and Rice you've ever tasted!
--All local pralines from Chef Julie Barreda and New Orleans School of Cooking will also be served.

Garden to Glass libations care of Donner-Peltier Distillers using Oryza Vodka (made from La. Rice) and Rougaroux Rum (made with La. sugar cane).
Covington Brewhouse will be on site serving beer and Landry Vineyards, of Monroe, will be pouring wines made from Louisiana grapes and other fruits.

We are thrilled to have the La. Commissioner of Agriculture, Mike Strain, give the keynote address to get the participants motivated for 30 days of reinvesting into the local agriculture economy and a 100% fresh foods diet.

Molly Kimball, Registered Dietitian/Nutrition Consultant, who will be providing local food recipes to participants during the Eat Local Challenge, will provide a 15 minute "How to do the Eat Local Challenge presentation".

Doc Griggs will also be on hand to explain how you can get active and healthy with Fit NOLA in June!

Party goers will also be able to register for the challenge on site!

Touro Infirmary will be set up to provide the “before” free health screening for the participants who are signing up for the 30 Fresh Food Challenge.
