Hey kids and families! Here is your chance to learn how to make your own rain barrel! Rain barrels have been used for thousands of years and are an invaluable way to responsibly store water and manage this precious resource.

This kids centered class (10:30am-12pm) is tailored to children and families and will show you how to make make your own rain barrels as well as cover a variety of ways in which you can sustainably harvest and manage rain water at home.

The cost of this class is $10 per child between the ages of 4-14. For needs based arrangments, siliding scale payment options are available if you contact Ms. Ariel in advance. We try very hard to keep our classes available and opem to as many participants as possible. Group discounts are also available for groups of 5 children or more, if paid for in advance. Parents are welcome to attend for free or donate additionally for the added benifit and exposure, if they are so moved!

Instructor Bio:

Farm Friends director and Crescent City Kitchen Gardens owner Ariel Wallick grew up in New Orleans where she first experienced the magic of vegetable gardening as a child. Ms. Ariel has had the pleasure of sharing these special moments with children and adults for over ten years while teaching in a variety of school and non-profit settings throughout New Orleans. She is so happy and honored to partner again with Hollygrove Market and Farm to offer additional gardening and permacultre education to the Hollygrove community and beyond.
