LA46 says
So once-a-month I host a little live music shindig called LIVE at LA46 where I invite everyone including film industry friends, music friends, fashion friends, photography friends, animal-loving friends and everyone else! Coming up on Saturday, March 12th at 7pm during March’s upcoming Second Saturday St. Claude Arts District Night at LA46 will be an incredibly special show with the one and only LITTLE FREDDIE KING.

New Orleans based Little Freddie King will bring only himself and his guitar to our LIVE at LA46 music series! This will be a rare opportunity to see Little Freddie King keeping it simple in just the intimate setting of LA46, sitting down with his guitar, telling stories and playing songs. Little Freddie King born Fread E. Martin in McComb Mississippi, the same town that gave us Bo Diddly, and grew up playing guitar alongside his guitar-playing father, Jesse James Martin, who showed him his first few chords. In the mid-'50s, King took the train to New Orleans and shared stages and time with John Lee Hooker and Bo Diddley. He also played bass for Freddie King, the Texas guitar wizard. People talked about and compared their guitar styles, and some said they sounded very similar, so Martin became Little Freddie King. King's cousin was another pioneer acoustic and electric bluesman, Lightnin' Hopkins. You will not want to miss this show!!! Seating is available at 7pm and shows generally begin at 8pm. These evenings are always free to the public but donations for the musicians are welcomed and accepted. A portion of the donations benefits NOLA's Ark Cats - fosters & adoptions for cats & kittens. You will not want to miss this show!!!

Sip and shop from 7pm to 8pm while enjoying wine, appetizers, cheese and more. Seating is available at 7pm, performance begins at 8pm for an hour, and the evening concludes at 10pm or when ever Little Freddie King feels like it. We suggest you arrive early because we believe this will be a full house! LA46 Vintage Market & General Store located at 2232 St. Claude Avenue in the Marigny (New Orleans) next to the Allways Lounge, across the street from Siberia and catty-corner from the Hi-Ho Lounge - near the old Schwegmann’s at Elysian Fields.
