Pelican Bomb says
"(De)tangled" is a multi-platform exhibition exploring historic and contemporary attitudes around beauty, attractiveness, and acceptability as they relate to hair and the politics of race, gender, and sexuality.

The exhibition consists of three parts: an interactive exhibition at UNO St. Claude Gallery where you are the work of art; a digital exhibition on our website of contemporary artist practices; and a series of commissioned essays and artist interviews all about hair for Pelican Bomb’s Art Review.

We love your hair however you style it. We want you to become a part of Pelican Bomb’s 2015 New Orleans Hairstyle Archive. Visit “(De)Tangled” at UNO St. Claude Gallery to document your hairdo with a live cartoonist and name your mane.

Don’t miss our opening event! We’ll be serving a delicious, boozy cocktail that’ll be sure to make your do shine.
