What would our communities look like if instead of disproportionately incarcerating low-income people of color, we invested those funds in ensuring opportunities, meeting our families basic needs, and investing in young people’s futures?
This event is to release a report that highlights these issues and includes public safety solutions that focus on shifting resources away from prisons and punishment, and reinvesting in the communities most damaged by incarceration. This report also illuminates both the personal and systemic truths associated with incarceration. We hope that attendees would these truths to bear when advocating for policies that allow our families to thrive
